چکیده
The pancreas is at risk of damage as a consequence thoracolumbar spine injury. However, there are no studies providing prevalence data to support this assumption. Data from European hospitals documented in the TraumaRegister DGU® (TR-DGU) between 2008–2017 were analyzed estimate correlation and determine impact on clinical outcome. A total 44,279 patients with significant trauma, defined Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) ?2, included. Patients transferred another hospital within 48 h excluded prevent double counting. 135,567 without injuries (AIS ? 1) used control group. Four-hundred trauma had pancreatic Pancreatic more common after (0.90% versus (vs.) 0.51%, odds ratio (OR) 1.78; 95% confidence intervals (CI), 1.57–2.01). likely be male (68%) higher mean Severity Score (ISS) than those (35.7 ± 16.0 vs. 23.8 12.4). Computed Tomography of Thoracolumbar Spine Trauma.
Thoracolumbar spine trauma typically occurs when high-energy forces damage bony and ligamentous spinal structures and, in severe cases, the spinal cord. These injuries often cause considerable neurological deficits as a result of the damage. Computed tomography (CT) is the imaging method of choice for determining injury severity in most victims of multiple trauma. In addition to describing vari...
متن کاملThoracolumbar Spine Trauma: II. Principles of Management.
The care of patients with thoracolumbar spine trauma with or without neurologic deficits has evolved dramatically over the past 20 years with the emergence of tertiary-care spinal injury centers and the development of more effective spinal instrumentation and anesthesia techniques. Despite these advances, the majority of patients with thoracolumbar injuries are still treated nonoperatively with...

Abstract Objective: To evaluate and review our experience with pediatric spinal injuries and factors affecting outcome, the authors conducted a retrospective clinical study of 43 cases (32 boys, 11 girls) of pediatric spine injuries treated during four years (January 1999 to December 2003). Methods: Forty-three children with spinal injuries were studied retrospectively over four y...
متن کاملProtocol to Clear Cervical Spine Injuries in Pediatric Trauma Patients.
In order to minimize the amount of ionizing radiation to which young trauma patients are subjected, a cervical spine clearance project was implemented. The aim was to increase the number of pediatric trauma patients clinically cleared and decrease the number of such patients undergoing cervical spine CT imaging when they met clinical clearance criteria. To accomplish the goals, a brief educatio...
